How about a trip to Indonesia Maluku Islands
A Brief Summary
The Maluku Islands are a horseshoe shape string of tropical islands in the far east of Indonesia, and to the west of the island of New Guinea. They are simply beautiful. Rugged, remote, far less developed than they should be for what they offer, but this only elevates their appeal and charm.
While you may not have heard of the Maluku Islands, perhaps the name “Spice Islands” is more familiar? Named after the discovery of nutmeg, cloves, mace and many others here, these were rich pickings for Europeans and unsurprisingly the first region of Indonesia colonised by the Europeans as a result.
If your idea of a getaway is being served by waiters at a 5* hotel, which you’ve reached by airconditioned car, on silky smooth roads, from a single flight from Heathrow… this isn’t for you. If however you want to kick back on some exceptional beaches, stay at lovely boutique hotels after having travelled here on a fairly rickety, but perfectly safe boat and stopped off at least once on your travels from west London, before exploring pristine reefs just off the coast, diving in mesmerically clear waters or trekking up verdant volcanos, then this is most definitely, for you!
