How about a trip to Ecuador Galapagos
A Brief Summary
The Galapagos Islands might just be the single most important group of islands in the world, from an environmental, ecological and scientific perspective… but ask the average high street shopper to pinpoint them on the map and they’ll often look bemused. Located nearly 1,000km off Ecuador’s western coast and straddling the equator, this heavily volcanic island group are where Charles Darwin famously came up with his theory of evolution. The wildlife here is often unique to these remote islands and given the extreme lack of contact with mankind, often have very little if any fear of “us”, making for incredible interactions and a close-up look at many creatures that are normally reserved for the exceptionally patient and well-funded camera crews travelling with Sir David Attenborough. Tourist numbers are rightly capped on the islands and your ability to go freely where and when you choose is also limited, but this doesn’t hinder your pleasure and enjoyment, in fact, it adds to it, knowing you are ensuring the sanctity and integrity of this astonishing place for decades to come. If you want some downtime on a sandy beach watching hotel entertainment while sipping Mojitos or a Mai Tai, go elsewhere, but if you want to see true wildlife like nowhere else on earth, both on land and in the sea, with rugged volcanic scenery as a backdrop… there really is no other place on earth like this

About the Weather
A true equatorial location doesn’t provide a typical equatorial climate here due to the remoteness of the islands and the cold Humboldt current. Temperatures here are often 3-5°c colder than one might expect at this latitude and the islands see far less rain than elsewhere at similar latitudes, again, resultant of the cold current making evapotranspiration more difficult to achieve. Day time temperatures range from 30°c in Feb to 25°c in Aug and Sep, with nights 7-12°c cooler. Rainfalls peak in the warmer months at the start of the calendar year from Jan to Apr, dropping significantly from May to Dec, with only showers during this time. Sunshine amounts however are at their highest during the rainy season, when winds are also strongest. Humidity is very high all year.
