How about a trip to Canada BC
A Brief Summary
While geographically not dissimilar to the rest of BC, the south is a much more hospitable place to be, not just because the weather here is less severe in winter than further north, but because the southernmost 2-300km of the province have a great deal of infrastructure, towns, ski resorts (including Whistler, one of the worlds very best), beautiful scenery, a rugged coastline and the truly cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. Often cited as one of the best places to live in the world, Vancouver is Canada’s cultural melting pot of ethnicities particularly from east Asia and Europe, with a heavy Australian and Kiwi presence too. It is a very modern city with everything from budget accommodation and eateries to some of the best hotels and restaurants in north America. The more northern regions of this vast state are desolate, incredibly sparsely populated and truly rugged.

About the Weather
British Colombia’s climate (i.e. that of the far southwest of the vast state), is similar to that of nearby Seattle, albeit a little cooler, a little wetter and with less sunshine than its US neighbour. Winters are chilly, very wet and frequently stormy. Snow in the city is surprisingly unusual, but the mountains (Canadian Rockies) which can be seen from the city are snow-capped from mid November until early April, with snow inland often very heavy. Sunshine in winter is limited to 2 hours a day on average. Very cold weather can affect the city, but with the majority of the weather coming off the Pacific, really cold weather is rare. Spring is cool to mild and bright, but with plentiful rain and temperatures averaging 14-15°c. Summers are sunny and comfortably the driest months of the year, with July and August noticeably drier and sunnier, and temperatures similar to those in the south of the UK. September is mild and relatively dry and sunny, but changes dramatically in October with the arrival of early winter storms, driving rain and greatly reduced sunshine. November and December are chilly, wet and cloudy.
