How about a trip to Bolivia
A Brief Summary
Containing La Paz, the worlds highest elevation capital city, at more than 3,500m in altitude, the central highlands region of Bolivia is a dry and arid place of soaring peaks, volcanos, and large open plains, not disimilar to the foothills of the Rockies in the US in appearance at times. The north and east of the country is heavily forested foothills and dense Amazonian jungle. A few elevated areas and clearings give expansive views of the region and the rivers and jungles below, but most of this eastern region is dominated by vast, fast-flowing tributaries of the Amazon river. To the west lies the desert, a true bone dry region of almost no precipitation and as a result, very few towns or settlements. To the far west lies Lake Titicaca, the worlds highest navigable lake, home to some astonishing vistas and indigenous tribal people who live their entire lives floating among the reeds on the lake. To the south, the Solar de Uyuni, the worlds largest salt flats and an incredible sight to behold under the deep azure skies. Travelling around Bolivia, like much of south America can be tricky and time consuming due to the geography and dispersed communities, but if you have the patience for it, you’ll be mightly well rewarded. While there are historical and cultural reasons to see and travel across Bolivia, it’s primarily the visuals you’ll come for and there aren’t many countries that can offer deserts, rainforests, volcanos and soaring peaks all accessible within a few days of each other!

About the Weather
The worlds highest capital city, La Paz’s climate is cool year-round. Temperatures remain almost identical throughout the year, ranging from 14°c in the months of June to August up to 16-17°c in November. Temperatures of 25°c are exceptionally rare and nights in all months are cold, with May to September seeing temperatures regularly down to -5°c. The city has partially clear skies from September through to April and sees almost all its annual rains during this time, with December to February the wettest months. During the rainiest months, mudslides and landslips are common and can cause significant damage and cause multiple fatalities. May to August is very dry and mostly sunny. UV levels in the city are extremely high year-round, even in the colder months, but given the city’s high elevation (as high as the highest ski resorts in Europe, at 3,600m), the levels indicated should realistically be doubled, as these represent sea-level equivalents and represent some of the strongest sun anywhere on earth
