How about a trip to Argentina Far North

This is another of Argentina’s “active” regions! Coming here with the intention of doing diddly squat will probably find you ambling round cities such as Salta, Jujuy or La Rioja for a few days and then wondering what else to do…. those wanting to get out and about and do a little more are in for a treat. Riding (be it 4-legs or 2-wheels) is a popular pastime here and we’re in Gaucho country too now, so you’ll likely find someone to give you an authentic Argentine demonstration of how to properly ride a horse here! Cycling is either long and tiring but scenically beautiful rides on paved roads, or mountain biking in the hills. If you prefer your feet on the ground, trekking, climbing and hiking are all readily available in every degree of difficulty! The topography changes more starkly here than in most of Argentina, with lowlands, fertile farmland and flat subtropical plains in the east, to elevated, mountainous, arid and rocky moonscapes in the west.
