How about a trip to Thailand East
A Brief Summary
If you’ve been to Cambodia and / or Laos / Vietnam and thoroughly enjoyed your time there, but want a similar experience and a different stamp in your passport, then try eastern Thailand. Head north and east out of Bangkok, be it on an organised tour, local bus, train or taxi, and you’ll soon be in familiar territory.
While superficially not a great deal different from the temples of Cambodia and the hilltop towns and villages of Vietnam, this area of Thailand still has it’s own unique appeals and charms and you can guarantee you won’t be surrounded by others from “back home”.
Very much off the beaten track, this area is much more authentically Thai and that comes with pros and cons. The latter including much less infrastructure, fewer options of accommodation, transport etc. and very, very people speaking a word of English. The pros are that this is what “travelling” is about, not the beaches, not the cheap bars, not the elephant rides where you’re highly unsure of the animal’s wellbeing but want the picture anyway, this is about experiencing things that you simply cannot at home, and if that means struggling to get lunch one day, or waiting an hour longer than you thought for a taxi… enjoy it, it’s why you came here!
The National Parks here are large and beautiful, the towns architecturally diverse, the scenery stunning, the people genuine and friendly, the food raw and extraordinarily good and the experience… priceless!

About the Weather
Temperatures of 32-35°c by day and 19 to 25° by night are seen across the far eastern regions of Thailand. Nov to Mar is mostly dry and sunny, with moderate humidity. Apr is still sunny but sees the first increase in humidity and rainfall before the deluges begin in May and ramp up even further until their peak in Aug which sees daily torrential downpours and intense thunderstorms. Accompanying this are very high humidity, light winds and overcast skies making the weather feel especially muggy. Oct is a transition month back to the hot and sunny winter
