How about a trip to Thailand Southeast

Thailand Southeast Dec

SummaryA Brief Summary

If you’re of an age where the Times Crossword is more your cup of tea than a bottle of your local supermarket’s cheapest wine offering, or your National Trust membership means more to you than your gym membership, places like Pattaya, to the southeast of Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, will not be on your radar for a holiday and you’d probably prefer a bout of flu than a week here… but… and it’s a sizeable but, things are changing. Pattaya, and the surrounding beach resorts here have a sleazy, almost debaucherous reputation, but local policy makers and authorities are making strides to avert the main focus of the region from the sex-trade, to something less “in your face” and “taboo”. The beaches here are genuinely lovely and elsewhere along this coastal region you’ll find much more quaint, quiet beach resorts, but the reality for the time being is such that if you’re after a really lively, alcohol-fuelled week of mischief and fun, Pattaya will suit you perfectly, while those that aren’t probably might want to wait a little while…

WeatherAbout the Weather

Thailand’s southeast corner, bordering western Cambodia, has a hot and humid climate all year with daytimes at 32°c and nights around 24°c. Dec to Feb is dry and quite sunny, although only 7 hours a days sunshine on average. Mar, Apr and Nov see some showers and bright skies, but from May to Oct, torrential rains fall almost daily, skies become exceptionally overcast with less than 2 hours sunshine a day and humidity very high, making for very oppressive conditions
