How about a trip to Sweden Southwest

Sweden Southwest Dec

SummaryA Brief Summary

Southern Sweden is where you’ll find the majority of the country’s population, although strangely, not where its capital city is to be found. It’s second, third, fourth etc. largest cities are all located here, in the region of the country best connected to the rest of Europe as a result of the new road bridge (Öresund) connecting Malmo in Sweden, to Copenhagen in Denmark. It is also home to Gothenburg, Sweden’s largest port city and one where cruise ships frequently dock, allowing thousands of tourists to meander the streets of this charming city on the southwest coast of the country. The entire coastline, from Gothenburg south, towards Malmo, is dotted with numerous towns and significant Viking heritage, but often ones which have moved with the times to a much more sustainable and environmentally-sensitive way of living.
Geographically, the coast is where 95% of the population live, primarily due to the difficulty of traversing the harsh and unforgiving terrain inland. While not mountainous or particularly rugged, the vast number of lakes and rivers here makes it financially unviable to build extensive road or rail networks, so those communities that are found inland are often beside one of the many lakes, with summer cabins an extensive and hugely popular staycation option for the Swedes during the brief but sunny summers.

WeatherAbout the Weather

Cool, southern Scandinavian winters, with chilly days and cold nights are seen across this region of Sweden from Nov to Mar. Snowfall is common, but often light with heavy snow unusual. Sunshine is limited to 1-2 hours a day throughout winter. Occasionally Atlantic storms do bring heavy rain and strong winds, but these often pass to the north. Spring is mild and relatively dry with no regular heavy rain, and a lot brighter than winter. Summers are fairly sunny and warm, occasionally hot, with infrequent showers or longer spells of rain. This is the wettest, but sunniest time of year in Denmark. Autumns start mild and bright but quickly become cool and overcast. Maximum temperatures in summer average 23°c, but 30°c is seen on a number of occasions each year. Temperatures below 0°c are common in winter, especially at night
